Master Gardener Continuing Education

This page will help you navigate how to get your 10 hours of continuing education each year to keep your MG Certification Active after you successfully completed MG Basic Training and the Intern Year.

Continuing Education

Click on the above link, or here, to see the resources collected by the UME State Master Gardener Office.  Their site includes webinars and online ways to complete your continuing education, plus it will provide you with links to Advanced Training. 

There are more opportunties for Continuing Education that are reguarly updated on our Calendar. So make sure to check that with regularity!

Examples of Continuing Education Hours include:

Annual Training Day in College Park every spring (to get started again in 2020 after a hiatus in 2019)

Horticultural Society of Maryland's Lecture Series usually held at Clyburn Arboretum

Ladew Garden's Education Events, please check with the Master Gardener Coordinator that an event counts before attending!

Cultivate Baltimore held by Real Food Farm each year has a changing rotation of classes that count

Mt. Cuba Center classes have a wide variety of topics

Future Harvest's Community Calendar frequently has classes and workshops listed as well. Again before taking any of these classes please check in with the Master Gardener Coordinator that they will fulfill the hours requirement!

Cylburn Arboretum occassionally hosts classes and workshops on their grounds as well! 

The IPM Toolbox Webinars you can even get continuing education hours from home by viewing these and potentially other webinars!
